NetworkNotes is working toward its first release. Version 1.0.0 ships at launch, here's what it will include, and where every change will be tracked from then on.

  • The three primitives (Note, Link, and Network) plus the NetworkNote, the unit they form.
  • The three principles: connect (don't just file), create (don't curate), and concentrate (don't accumulate).
  • A tool-agnostic definition: practise the method in any app that links notes; nothing to install.
  • Plain-language vocabulary (Note / Link / Network) in place of slip-box or graph-theory jargon.
  • The positioning against Zettelkasten: fewer rules, no fixed note types, optional atomicity, no IDs, no prescribed workflow, and a broader goal than producing writing.
  • An Advanced Concepts section on reading your Network (degree, hubs and orphans, average degree, components, and bridges), framed as gentle diagnostics, not metrics to chase.
  • A citable specification (whitepaper + DOI), published at release.
